The mission of MedStar Research Institute is to:

  • Initiate, conduct, and publish innovative research that enhances the national and regional reputations of the MedStar hospitals;
     
  • Foster a clinical and health services culture and an academic environment within MedStar Health that values evidence-based practice and outcomes;
     
  • Translate medical research into quality patient care throughout all MedStar Health hospitals and services;
     
  • Enhance MedStar Health’s capabilities in graduate and continuing medical education;
     
  • Provide quality scientific and administrative support for medical investigators throughout the MedStar Health;
